This quilt pattern was originally for a baby quilt in pastels, with a place for the baby announcement and a baby picture inside the star. i decided to make a Christmas quilt from the pattern. I really like the effect of twisted ribbons.

I made this little quilt for a friend whose daughter is having a baby boy. Members of the family are in the military, so I thot sailing ships would be fun. Also, I saw the pattern and wanted to do it. Notice the little flag flying from the deck of the center ship.
