Going up to SLC Friday to the quilt show. There they have a bin to put in quilts we've made for the servicemen. It's so fun to see these men usually with a cute wife and a child or two, walking around in their camo proudly carrying their patriotic quilt. These are the two quilts I made to contribute. The picture in the middle is of the backing for the bottom quilt. It's become my habit to piece a bit of the backing. The top quilt is a pattern I've used a lot before. The bottom quilt was supposed to look a bit different, but I lost the instruction page from the magazine which would have helped me set up the blocks better. But I think it looks okay. I had sewn three of the rows together and realized they were really wrong, looking like a hodge-podge of red/white/and blue. I took all that sewing out and redid it. At least this way it looks like rows on the diagonal.
