This is a large size throw we put together, amazingly in about 10 days. Deanna, my friend pictured on the left proposed a project to me. One of the sisters at church has been diagnosed with cancer and will be having treatments and maybe eventually surgery. This sister has Devoted to Relief Society, has given lessons continually all her life. When an event comes up, or a General Authority is in town, she is called on to plan and create dinners. Deanna texted and emailed every sister at church asking them to find a scripture or special saying or drawing for a white square we'd provide. A lot of good response. Deanna crafted a pattern using gold, blue, and the white squares. She was the one who made sure everyone was contacted, she collected many, but most sisters brought their squares to me. I sewed them together in two days, then quilted it in another day and a half. Deanna came over on Saturday and we sat knee to knee hand stitching the binding. I would never have finished it in time if she hadn't come over. It was ready to give to our sister on Sunday, at her house. She was crying, very touched. She will use it to comfort herself as she has her treatments. We pray she'll be okay.
