July 2021, Two 40" x 60" for charity, one for a friend

I contacted the charity, The Linus Project which takes quilts for children in distress, one way or another.,  They will take baby quilts but prefer this size, for small children.  The top quilt I made because I saw a  picture in a magazine using triangles with black/white fabric on one side and bright stuff on the other side.  So I made this one using my very bright fabrics.  The back is 12" squares using some of the fabric from the front.  Simple straight stitching on the seam line,.

I had a stack of squares left from another project and put them together,.  They are mostly light simple fabrics.  I actually really like quilts like this,.  You'll notice I don't often make quilts with complicated patterns.  I had some really pretty pink flowered fabric just the right size for the back.

My friend from church had made this quilt for a grandbaby.  She asked me if I'd quilt it for her.  I used the simple straight line, vertically and horizontal on either side of the seam line.  Takes a lot of thread but not a whole lot of time.  As a reward she gave me the left over backing fabric which I love and the left over batting.  The batting is all cotton and will be perfect for the pot holders I'm making for Christmas presents.  She plans on learning how to use this simple quilt pattern to finish off her quilts, sometime.
