May 2022, Geologic Fault Quilt

My friend has a husband who was geologist before retirement.  My friend "D" makes quilts taking her time and doing a good careful job.  Her husband wanted a quilt referring to his employment.  He designed this quilt pattern.  "D" charted it out on graph paper and then worked out the colors and lines.  If  you look at the bottom quilt you see that it is a flat quilt.  The top quilt gives the optical illusion of rising fault lines.  Pretty cool
