I saw this panel for several months in catalogues and resisted buying it. Finally, I gave in and bought it. The panel is the part on the left with the leaf, butterfly, and caterpillar. I got the other pieces of fabric to go with it but couldn't decide how to put it together. But finally, I did, and this is it. I wanted to finish it for the quilt show we are having the end of February. The outside border which you can't see is of butterfly fabrics, very cute.

This is a closeup of the "Hungry Caterpillar" quilt.

This is a close up of the following quilt. This block has a "partial seam" construction which means that the first seam is sewn only partially, then when you've sewn all the pieces in, around the center square, you come to the first/last seam, and then finish sewing it together. I really like tis quilt. The guild members know me, that I like "scrappy", random fabric quilts.

This quilt is called "The President's Block". In our quilt guild, when you serve as president, at the end of the year, members of the guild decide on a theme, then they each make a block or two, give it to the outgoing president and she can do with them what she wants. I made a few more blocks, and then sewed them together into this quilt. It is very beautiful. I kept it for a month or two, trying to decide how to quilt it. Finally, I had a professional machine quilt it for me.
