I started this quilt almost a year ago. Vere asked what it was for and I said, the fun of it. Sometimes you just see a quilt you have to do. The squares are hand embroidered. I found the pattern in my favorite magazine, Fons and Porter's Love of Quilting. Someone found an old quilt in a trunk and brightened it up and then they printed it in the magazine. I drew the pattern onto the squares, and embroidered them. I took a few of them with me to the shore last summer and sat out on the sand in the wind and sewed. I'm still finishing up the hand quilting. Jill said it looked like a Jewish star, (I know the number of points is wrong) and Sonya said it looks Norwegion.
