quilts this month

This first quilt was made by a group that makes the quilts for families of a parent who is serving in the armed services.  They take pictures, and put them in the quilts.  A friend of mine had volunteered to put it together but was afraid the father would be home from Aphganistan before she finished it.  I just tied it and am in the process of binding it.  The material is beautiful flannel.

This next quilt is for Vere's nephew, Mathew and wife Heather whose baby is due in April.  It is the go-to pattern, looks hard but is easy enough, just time consuming.  I love it.  The back has a stip sewn into white, of extra pieces from the front.

This bottom quilt, I was going to wait to post it till I quilted it.  But I wanted to show it off.  I will quilt it and show it again.  I saw this pattern on some internet site and though, Ah-hah, I've got just the fabric for that.  I had these very bright plaids to cut up and resew into the strips.   I also had the green, orange, and yellow for the sashing.  I call it "Plaids and Strata".  This will be for the "Kids in Crises" program in Moab.
