September 24, 20013, my latest quilt, a Dresden Plate. It is not quit a full size, and it is square rather than rectangle, so it's not twin sized either. But it's big enough for two to snuggle up in. I made it for my friend's son, who got married last year. Dresden plate takes a lot of hand work, which I usually don't have a problem with. I enjoy sitting down with a handwork project, with a good movie on the TV and passing the time. Well, just about the time I started this, my illness hit me and I can't hear the TV, so it's not going to work to put in a good movie. Instead, I sat outside when the weather was good and enjoyed the fresh air while I sewed. It took a bit longer. One other crazy thing. For some reason I miscounted and made more blocks than I needed for this quilt but less than I would need for another whole one. So I got busy and made enough blocks for another quilt. I have blocks for another quilt, just not sewn together. I'll do it up someday.
Notice the quilting on the plates. I had my local long arm quilter do the quilting and asked her to do the "crosshatching" on the plates. I really like how it turned out.
