Ohio, March 2014

We went to Columbus, Ohio this March specifically because our little Mimi was being baptized.  This is a picture of her with her daddy in their whites.  The dress she is wearing is the one I made for  her mother 30 years ago.    It fit her about the same

This picture is of the families gathered for the occasion.
The 3 kiddos loved to use my white board to draw on , especially Mimi.  This is her picture of her baptism.

Val and Yoda.

We went to Cabelas for Grandad, and got hats for each of the kid's  Mimi wore hers the most in the days after, even to school.

Every time we go to Ohio, we think of going over to see the Longaberger office building.  This time we made it.  It's about 45 minute drive from Val's house.  This is the company that is best known for their very sturdy, and expensive baskets.  I have seen this building featured on web sites and magazine articles of famous buildings.  Val had googled directions and Sonya was navigator.  As we got close, Sonya said,  "They should just say 'turn right off the highway and look for the big basket'"  It was very impressive.

While we were in that direction, we stopped to see some ancient mounds talked of in the LDS church as sites created by ancient Americans or Nephites.  Very interesting.

It's freezing outside, and for some reason the treat that last night for the kids was snow cones.  Lots of work for very little result, but their mom worked on it and the kids loved their inside snow.  Val said it snowed for real in Ohio the day we left
