We drove out to California for a little visit with Karleen and Louis. On the way we stopped for a visit with Conrad and Kathy in Las Vegas. We stayed one night there on the way out and the way back. In California, the weather was overcast and quite cool. Vere bustled about working on projects, like taking down the old wallpaper in the kitchen and putting up a new door, and framing it, on the garage. I spent some time sitting on this chair, under the lemon tree and doing my hand sewing. We went out to dinner every night - yummy - including one night with Karleen's friend at the Country Club. The clam chowder was out of this world. The last day, the weather cleared up and I got to sit by the pool and draw. We drove past the beach a couple times, that's all.
