I found a small piece of fabric with very cute animal cartoon pictures on it. There wasn't enough fabric for even a baby quilt, so I fussy cut it into squares and added coordinating color squares to fill it in. Making baby quilts is so fun because it accomplishes a quilt quickly.
This quilt was made with mostly blue fabric strips. It is a "string quilt" but without foundation of paper or light weight fabric. I cut out backing squares of of blue 8 1/2", then cut a square of batting to match, then sewed the strips onto the batting "stitch and flip" method. Then I squared up the block and sewed them together with the white fabric. Done, no more quilting.
