Before and After

This is the bedroom we redid. I mentioned to Vere that I thot it was time to get the "popcorn" off the ceiling and the next thing I knew, he had pulled some of stuff out of there and started digging at the popcorn. It took him a couple of days to smooth it off. Then he tried to texturize it. Finally we decided to take up an offer made by his friend, Ken. Ken has the paraphernalia needed to blow texture onto walls and ceiling. We took the rest of the furniture out of the room and put it all into the front room, and taped plastic over anything else we didn't want messed up. Ken sprayed the ceiling and texturized it. It looks so great.
We ordered new carpet, which we should have done sooner as it took almost 2 weeks for it to come in and for the carpet layers to find the time to come and put it down. Of course, I love to have my house a complete mess, doesn't everyone. At least I had an excuse not to clean my house. In the meantime, I painted the ceiling twice and painted the walls a nice warm brown. With the new carpet, and new curtains and rod, I think the room is much nicer, and more welcoming.

Looks great and I look forward to seeing it someday. It's about time you got rid of that hideous rug, but what will you call it now? Is it still the "Red Room"?

I don't know, maybe the beige room. Thanks for taking away the extra room. You need to show me how to do that someday. Anyway, it has a cozier feel now which is nice.

Room looks lovely! Good for you. I would really like to come and be one of the guests to fill it up for a day or two!
I am impressed and hope to follow your example and do a room or two here....They need it after many years of 'being' :-)
