Had some real trauma at our house last night. Vere ran in and said the freezer was not working, there was a puddle on the floor and the fish inside was soft. Having a freezer that is not working is not allowable when there is elk, deer and fish overflowing, not to mention, strawberries and raspberries. So he called our bishop who owns a furniture store, who delivered us a new freezer within a half hour. I was busy giving a piano lesson, and he had friends waiting on him to cut up the latest addition to the freezer. My assignment: to put all the stuff from the old freezer into the new freezer before I left for my book club. "Don't worry about dinner for me" he said. So I totally organized the new freezer, took stuff he'd forgotton out to where Vere was, went back to close the garage door so no critters would move in, and got to my book club only 20 minutes late.

This morning come to find out, the temp control knob in the old freezer was turned to (you guessed it) OFF. Luckily, they didn't have a problem picking up the new freezer, just requires a reinstallation fee. So it was - put all the stuff back into old freezer, wipe off any and all marks in the new freezer and wait for them to come a pick it up. The temp knob turned to off? must be my fault.

i'm so sad that my unlimited supply of wild fish and game isn't just a quick drive over the mountains :(
