In our quilt guild, when the president finishes up her year as president, most members of the guild make a quilt block for her. Usually, the blocks are made similarly - same fabric, or same pattern. Last year, one of the guild members who likes to make art quilts rather than simple patterned ones, made these three blocks for me in deference to my interests - quilting, travel and artwork. I finally got them quilted and hung them on the hallway wall.
