Someone in our ward has a daughter getting married and this is her wedding dress. The mother had asked me if I would shorten it and then later we agreed it would be nice if I added straps. The dress is basically strapless tho there are thin, detachable straps. I volunteered to do the hem, instead of straight across, to follow the design of the embroidery. So it is a curvy hem. I tried to find some bias tape in town, but there was none. Luckily the curve of the hem was not so deep that the satin ribbon I used didn't pucker noticeably. I was able to cut straps out of the leftover fabric, but I haven't added them yet. That's another project, but it's got to be done soon. Three weeks to the wedding. I used the pattern from Jill's dress to make the shoulder straps.
