After much searching, the six year old hunter was finally outfitted in camoflage although his dad had to make do with khaki shorts and a shirt that lets him fade into the background. They were off to find the turkeys. I'm not sure, but I think that Thomas's mother was hoping the turkeys knew where to hide so that her little hunter wouldn't really have the hunting experience. Thomas had a great time, according to his granddad and they were out for two whole days, riding around the mountains and shooting their guns occasionally. I had to think of my dad, who loved golf in the same way that Vere loves getting out with a gun in a jeep. What would have happened if my dad had lived to see my son, would thay have gone out for two whole days hitting golf balls? Greg says that Vere's style of hunting is different from what he expected as Greg was expecting more hiking and stalking.
