visit (4)

You would not believe how much Maureen likes the feel of dirt. I've shown pictures of her in the past examining the sand at the beach. One day while they were here, I lost track of her for a minute and ran around outside looking. Maureen was on the other side of the garage, sitting in the dirt, sticker bushes and sage brush all around her, happily digging in the red dirt. These pictures show another treasure she found. I've not had good luck growing things in the dirt here, so I've got a number of huge pots, full of enriched, black dirt for my flowers. In the back, they get a lot of water when we water the grass, unlike the pots in front, where I put the silk flowers. As you can see, Maureen had such a good time in that rich dark MUDDY dirt. After she was finished, I just pushed the flowers around, back into the dirt, and they are just fine.
