Down the block from our house was the block of tent houses. The front of the houses were canvas tents with nice porches and awnings. The back part of the houses were structures attached. I don't know if we every found out if they were permanent housing for some people, or just summer rentals. There were nice doors on the tents and there were airconditioners in the windows. They looked small but cozy.
One day we walked over to the river and were going to take Mimi for a ride on these paddle boats. The "boys" had left early in the morning to deep sea fish on a charter. When we got to the paddle boats a hand written sign said they wouldn't be for hire till the afternoon. Too bad.
