Oregon #5

A very big part of the bus tour was to go to quilt shops in the area.  This a picture of "the Brits" Barbara and June with me and Debbie.
Here they are in front of one of the stores with the scissors statue.  The weather in and around Portland, Oregon is beautiful.  Of course, they said it was unusually sunny, not overcast.  So I don't know what the real weather is.

One day we stopped at this resevoir and ate lunch on tables among the trees.  It was wonderful.

The town of Sisters, Oregon was our major destination.  This picture is of a mural painted on the side of one of the stores.  The town was named after these three mountain peaks - the Sisters - and I got this perfect picture from the bus.

I took this little picture of the town, the store in the middle is the quilt fabric store.  We got there in the later afternoon before the quilt show and went into the store, as they said it would be impossible to get in the next day because of the crowds.

This is the picture of the Sisters the next day as we left town after the quilt show.  The day started clear, but clouds were building and by afternoon it was raining a little.  It isn't supposed to rain on the quilt show, but I understand they had to stop the show a little early.  As we were driving out of town at 1:00 on the 2 lane road, the line up of cars going into town was at least 3 miles long, not kidding, bumper to bumper.
